New centralized trim removal system to service a Flexographic Press improves Productivity and Safety

Kernic Systems has installed a new centralized trim removal system to service a Flexographic Press for a leading folding carton manufacturer. The new system improved the customer’s press productivity, plant safety and housekeeping.

Before…..

The customer’s initial trim extraction system restricted press run time, line speed, was very labor intensive, dusty, made for messy floors and had no safety guarantees against the risk of combustion.

After with Kernic Solution….

With Kernic unique OneSource™ for Simplicity, a newly designed extraction hood allows the continuous matrix to flow faster improving line speed and press run time.

With the innovative approach, the continuous matrix is cut through an in-line Trim Cutter reducing the size of the scraps, reducing the risk of a duct or fan plug.

   

In real time production……

 

Cut matrix trim passes through an airlock separator, sorting the air and scraps, that are then discharged into a fully automatic tie horizontal baling press.

 

The Airlock Separator prevents downward air pressure into the baling press,  a common issue with conventional Cyclones.

 

All conveying is filtered through an automatic pulse dust collector that is compliant with with all current code requirements.  The filtered air remains within the conditioned plant area, returning a fresh and safety air.

 

   

 

The finished mill size bales are, now shipped directly to the mill, maximizing  the return on their recyclable waste.
